NarrativeWhen unit was in Vietnam was 1st platoon rto for 2 months, went into 1st squad as point man. In July 1968 the battalion formed a LLRP team, 3 months with LRRP team and last month in Vietnam was in recon platoon training squad leaders. While with the 1st platoon, was often a tunnel rat. In April 1968 cleared a tunnel that was an NVA headquarters and discovered a large weapons cache, brought home a Russian K-44 rifle as a war trophy |
