Narrative

Louie enlisted in the Army on February 24, 1918, and was promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant. The greater part of the time he was in service was spent in France, where he participated in the attack before Vigneulles, France. He was a charter member of the American Legion Post 146 and held various offices.

After the war was over he returned to Adams and lived with his parents. He served Adams and the surrounding community as veterinarian until ill health forced him to retire. He cared for his parents until they passed away. Louie was very concerned about all his relatives and was always dropping in to check on them and help whenever he could.

J., Camp Mills, N. Y. Promoted to second lieutenant, veterinary corps. May 21, 1918. Embarked at Hoboken, N. J., June 29, 1918, and arrived at Brest, July 12, 1918. Served at Marbache Sector. Participated in attack before Vigneulles, Arrived at New York, Feb. 24, 1919. Discharged March 18, 1919, at Camp Dodge, Iowa.
