Narrative

I served in the Marine Corps from 2005-2009 as a Motor Transport Operator. The highest rank achieved was Corporal. I was initially stationed with 9th Communication Battalion, but my unit was weeks from deployment and scrubbed me from that list and decided to give me a temporary assigned duty (TAD) to Twentynine Palms, CA with the Mojave Viper Support Detachment. I spent 10 months with that unit before returning to 9th Comm. Upon return, I was then TAD to Combat Logistics Company 115 (CLC) that was then sent to Twentynine Palms to do our work up before deploying to Iraq. We deployed in February of 2007 to TQ, Iraq, where we provided logistical support for area units in the Al Anbar Providence. We drove countless miles through the cities and deserts moving personnel, equipment, and anything else requested of us. Our deployment ended in September 2007 and we returned to our parent units. 8 months later, I was again TAD to I MEF - I MHG Truck Company to deploy to Fallujah, Iraq. We arrived in May 2008 in Iraq to meet up with the already deployed unit. During this deployment, we provided logistical support again for area units within and sometimes outside Al Anbar providence. We were one of the main units helping to close down Camp Fallujah and move it to Al Asad. We were one of the final units on Camp Fallujah upon its closing and turnover to the Iraqi Army. We worked from Al Asad Airbase for the remainder of the deployment and returned to the US in February 2009.
