Narrative

John F. Makousky's date of induction was November 30, 1945 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He had been working in Seattle, Washington as an aircraft assembler and was registered in Seattle, WA. He was stationed for military training at Fort Snelling and achieved military qualification with a MM M1 Rifle on February 22, 1946. His military occupational specialty was a Tank Crewman. He had 6 months and 4 days of service of regular service before enlisting to serve in the occupational forces in Japan on June 4, 1946 at Camp Stoneman, California. He was in training there at Stoneman until August 1, 1946 when the troops departed by ship to Japan where they arrived on August 13, 1946.
