NarrativeI joined the Army on 16 August 1985 after graduation from college and receiving my commission through ROTC at Minnesota State University at Mankato. I was first stationed at Fort Bliss Texas where I become an Air Defense Artillery Officer (Patriot). After completing four years of active duty in Germany, I joined the Minnesota National Guard at Brainerd serving in Headquarters 1-194 CAV. Subsequently I served in as the Commander of the Combat Support Company of 1-194 Infantry, Training Officer and Administrative Officer for 1-125 FA, Training officer and eventually the Administrative Officer for the 34th Aviation Brigade, and Training Officer for the 34th ID. I deployed to Iraq from 2005-2008 as the Executive Officer for the 1/34 Brigade Combat Team. Upon return to Minnesota I served as the Mobilization Officer and later as the Construction and Facilities Officer for the Minnesota Army National Guard. I retired after 30 years of service on 16 July 2016. |
