Narrative

During the time that M/Sgt Robert M. Nathe served under my command he has proved to be one of the most valuable high ranking non-commissioned officers of this unit.

As Chief of firing battery, which constitutes a great amount of responsibility, he performed his duties in an outstanding manner. He demonstrated aggressive leadership, good professional knowledge and was capable of overcoming problems and obstacles which would ordinarily need the assistance of his superior officers.

In view of the above facts, I would highly recommend this soldier to any position for which he may apply upon returning to civilian life.

James W. Smith, Captain, Artillery Commander, Battery B 175th Field Artillery Battalion, 47th Infantry Division, Camp Rucker, Alabama, 8 February 1952
