Narrative

Basic Training - Camp Blanding Stark Florida, Camp Robinson Arkansas. Arrived in Naples October 1943,

Mount Pantano Battle - Due to poor weather conditions they lived did not receive food and military supplies, no food so they drank rain water, they placed rocks in old ration cans then through at the enemy in the fog to let them know they were still engaged in battle.

Monte Cassino, my father lost 35 of his 40 men when they were barraged by enemy fire.

Anzio Beach, my father with replacement soldiers fought for 4 months

PO Valley near Biella Italy, my father was present when the 34th German Division surrendered to the 34th American Division.
