NarrativeThis 2nd Lt flew an F4F Corsair for VMF 215. He and his aircraft were lost at sea, just off the coast of New Ireland, Papua New Guinea on 3 Sept 1944, 23 days before his unit rotated back to CONUS to train new combat pilots. |
