At any given time, the museum is engaged in fundraising for special, one-time projects. Gifts for a special project can only be used to support that project. Current projects are:
- Restoration of the German WWI 105mm howitzer. New wheels, which had to be rebuilt in Michigan, were recently attached. Sand blasting, cleaning, painting, and replacement of other missing parts remains to be done. Needed: $2000 in addition to $2000 already given by the Heritage Arms Society.
- Large gun safe. For holding federal weapons. Needed to purchase: $1800.
- New World War One Exhibit. Scheduled to open mid-July 2016 in time for the 100th anniversary of America's entry into a war that profoundly changed the course of modern history. The exhibit will include a walk-through, multimedia trench. Needed: $25,000.
To help with these major projects, make your check payable to the Minnesota Military Museum, earmark it for the one or more of these special exhibits, and mail it to: Minnesota Military Museum, Camp Ripley, 15000 Hwy 115, Little Falls, MN 56345.
